Picture Passwords are one of the most innovative new features provided in Windows 8 that enables you to Logon by touching or clicking specific parts of a picture to authenticate.
Any picture that resides in your picture library, or on your hard drive's other location can be used as a reference to help you remember where the three parts of your picture password are located. Basic gestures such as dragging your mouse along a specific part of the picture can also be used as your password.
Steps to configure Picture Password:
- Click or touch the metro Control Panel tile from your start menu.
- Select Users >> Create a picture password.
- Enter your current password to authenticate and hit OK.
- Now, you need to choose a unique picture to make it you password. So now, Click on Choose Picture. This picture will consist of your reference points to use them as your password.
- You can choose any picture from your Picture Library of from any other location on your hard drive. After choosing picture, confirm the picture with Use This Picture button.
- Now to make reference point passwords on the selected pic, Touch and swipe or click and drag in three points on the picture.
- Repeat the points by Touch and swipe or click and drag on the picture you selected to confirm your password.
